How to delete your data
Last updated: 23 August 2026
You can ask us to delete the personal information Ordo holds about you, and we will. You do not need an account, a password, or a reason. This page tells you exactly how to ask, precisely what is deleted, what we are obliged to keep, and how long it takes.
Three ways to ask
Fastest
1. Message the restaurant on WhatsApp
From the same WhatsApp number you used to order, send the word DELETE to the restaurant you ordered from. Because the request arrives from your own number, we can confirm it is you without asking for anything else.
2. Message us directly on WhatsApp
Send us a message on +91 89036 68239 asking for your data to be deleted, and tell us the name of the restaurant you ordered from.
3. Email us
Write to info@aflatus.com with the subject line "Data deletion request".
Please include
- • The WhatsApp number you ordered from, in full international format — this is what we look your records up by.
- • The restaurant's name, if you remember it.
That is all we need. We will not ask you for an ID document, a photograph or a copy of a bill. If a request reaches us from an email address we cannot connect to an order, we may send a confirmation message to the WhatsApp number named in the request before we delete anything — that is to stop someone deleting your records without your knowledge.
What we delete
When we act on your request, the following is permanently removed from Ordo's systems and from the restaurant's order records:
- Your WhatsApp phone number and WhatsApp ID
- Your WhatsApp profile name
- Your delivery address as you typed it
- Your location coordinates and the map link generated from them
- Your ordering conversation — the messages you sent and the replies Ordo gave, including the last-message record held against your session
- Your active ordering session, including any items still sitting in your cart
- Your order history — the individual orders placed from your number, and the line items within them
- Any entries in our diagnostic logs that identify you
Deletion means the record is removed, not hidden. Where a record must remain for accounting reasons (see below), the personal details within it are erased so that the row can no longer be connected to you.
What we may have to keep, and why
We will not keep anything simply because it is useful to us. There are two narrow exceptions:
- Financial and tax records. A restaurant may be legally required to keep a record that a sale of a certain value took place on a certain date. Where that applies, the transaction record is kept but your name, number, address and location are erased from it, leaving a figure that is not linked to you.
- An active order. If you have an order that is being cooked or is out for delivery, we will complete it first, then delete. We will tell you if this applies.
We also cannot delete the copy of the conversation held on your own phone or on the restaurant's phone in the WhatsApp app itself, or anything held by Meta on WhatsApp's own servers. Those are not ours to reach. To remove the chat from your phone, delete it in WhatsApp; for anything held by Meta, see WhatsApp's privacy policy.
How long it takes
We acknowledge every request within 3 working days, and complete the deletion within 30 days of receiving it. In practice most requests are completed well inside that.
When it is done, we confirm it to you on the same channel you used to ask — so you get a message telling you it has actually happened, not just that it was received.
There is no charge for this, and there is no limit on how many times you may ask.
If you are a restaurant, not a diner
If you are an Ordo customer and want your restaurant's own data removed — your menu, your business contact details, and your connection to WhatsApp — email info@aflatus.com from the address we have on file, or message us on WhatsApp. We will:
- disconnect Ordo from your WhatsApp Business account, so it stops answering your customers;
- delete the access token that allowed Ordo to message on your behalf;
- delete your menu, prices and configuration from our systems; and
- delete your business contact details, subject to the accounting exception above.
Your order spreadsheet belongs to you and stays in your own Google account — we simply lose our access to it. If you would like us to delete your customers' personal data from it before we go, say so and we will.
You can also revoke Ordo's access yourself at any time from Facebook Business Settings → Business integrations, without asking us first.
If you are not satisfied
If you asked for deletion and believe it has not happened, tell us and we will investigate. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country. For India, that is the authority established under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Our contact for privacy complaints is info@aflatus.com. See also our privacy policy.
